The classification of a legal right pertains to entitlements or protections granted by law. Protection against unlawful eviction is a solid example of a legal right because it is established by statutes that safeguard tenants from being removed from their rental properties without just cause or appropriate legal procedure. These laws exist to ensure that individuals cannot be unfairly deprived of their homes and provide a legal framework within which tenants can assert their rights.

Proposing new laws is a civic activity but not inherently a legal right. Bypassing regulations and ignoring local ordinances, on the other hand, do not align with the concept of a legal right as they imply non-compliance with established rules and could lead to legal repercussions.
